Grammy nominated and platinum recording artist, J. Cole, wrapped up his Forest Hills Drive Tour with a homecoming to Fayetteville, NC and an HBO special. The tour, based off his 2014 Forest Hills Drive album, allowed J. Cole to personally describe his journey from childhood to stardom.
J. Cole’s childhood home on Forest Hills Drive, and inspiration for his album, served as the set for his tour and was perfectly replicated by Gallagher Staging. The custom flown overhead house, custom dance platforms resembling house windows, custom rolling locking scenic stage riser with plexiglass windows, and custom painted marley all created the illusion of laying between two houses and looking up into to the sky. The respected lyricist treated his stage as his personal stoop, discussing the meaning and inspirations of his songs in between performing.
The custom set had to be perfect from the get-go. “We did not have a dress rehearsal for this tour, and we pulled it off for the first show…it was miraculous,” raved Rogers. “It was just a great start for the tour.”
